NFL 2025 season: Week six

Real-time updates includes live text of the weekend matchups on multiple platforms, beginning with Denver Broncos v New York Jets at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, audio coverage is available on designated networks covering another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).

We're in the sixth week in the NFL season , following last week's talk about two top teams being a potential Super Bowl match-up, each surrendered their unbeaten records.

Striking in those games were the number of infractions both committed. The Eagles committed them in key moments meaning they kind of defeated themselves after leading by two touchdowns going into the final quarter against Denver, who play in London this weekend.

However it was good to observe that Denver quarterback the rookie managed to have the shortfall and then lead three successful possessions on three possessions during the final period, to win the game by four points.

The Broncos boast the top defender in CB Pat Surtain II. They are number one in goal-line defense, while the Eagles lead the league in scoring near the end zone, and the Broncos prevailed in that contest.

They had effective strategies in terms of disguised blitzes. They weren't necessarily sending more than four pass rushers but they might position two LBs in the 'A' gap then withdrawing them and dispatch a slot defender off the edge.

Early on of the season, it was noted during a show that Denver might emerge as the current year's dark horses. They ended last season well and did a good job of building upon that.

Could Denver be this year's dark horses?

Recently acquired TE their tight end has stepped up significantly and new RB their rusher is a guy the team trusts. He now ranks 5th in the NFL in ground gains (over 400) and tied for fourth for rushing touchdowns (four).

It's impressive how the coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUSH!" prominently on his call sheet.

This demonstrates that Denver are a squad aiming to prioritize the run, because you can achieve much off the back of that. It reduces down the pass rush while keeps you in positive situations.

This has helped quarterback Bo Nix, who entered into the league as the 12th overall draft pick last year, throwing 29 TDs – second only to Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 in 2020).

Other elite QBs possess powerful arms to pass all over, but they lack in the same way as Nix. He boasts incredible arm talent, which is different, plus he's highly agile.

His assets are his movement, being able to throw on the run, as well as finding different arm angles to make throws when he rolls out of the pocket, on rollouts. He can throw precision throws over the middle and over the corner.

For a young quarterback, at 25, he displays a lot of poise in the pocket and isn't really fazed by extra rushers. He aims to evade being tackled whenever possible and is able pass under pressure. He possesses sharp intelligence and remains very decisive.

If you constantly rush it eats up time and makes the opponent to be on the field for longer, and if you've got a mobile QB the defense has to defend the field downfield and horizontally. This proves draining.

The quarterback has bitten back with the coach during games at times and I think the coach likes that attitude, seeing him as such a competitor. In my view it's exciting for him to coach a young quarterback that is kind of like play-dough. The coach can really develop him how he wants to build it. I believe it's a special experience for him.

Payton has won a Super Bowl and has surpassed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed everything. In my opinion the achievements the Broncos are having on offence is largely down to his leadership, his schemes, his game sense – and the combination with Nix aids make him what he is.

You wouldn't want a better guy guiding you, to help you through some of the tougher situations and boost confidence.

I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet is the team good enough to go against an elite team at its best? Since that wasn't championship-level play by the Eagles last Sunday.

Currently, I don't think Denver are elite. They're performing better than most, which is a good place to hold the AFC West. The key is to continue this trajectory.

They excel at embracing their strength, which is running the ball, and this is exactly what they should do against the Jets in London. It will likely be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.

The Jets have allowed 140 rushing yards per game (among the worst), five ground scores so far (in the bottom ten), and they are the sole squad without a win a game.

Ever since the NFL started recording takeaways decades ago, this team are also the inaugural squad to go without any turnovers through five games, this is kind of shocking when you think that the head coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.

Patrick Mahomes says the Chiefs are off to a poor start after a recent loss by the Jaguars.

Following this Sunday's game, Denver have a manageable slate until their bye (in week 12) - the New York Giants, the Cowboys, Houston Texans plus the Raiders before the Chiefs.

Looking at their division, Kansas City hold a losing record while Denver are even with the Los Angeles Chargers on 3-2 so they could challenge for the top of the West.

It depends on what version Kansas City shows up they face because Denver {beat|def
