Esteemed Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Has Died at Age 60.

Stateside entertainer Pat Finn, who featured in beloved TV shows including Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has died at the age of 60.

The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in LA recently having undergone treatment for a cancer diagnosis from 2022 onward, as reported by reports.

"Pat saw everyone as a friend - only friends he didn't know yet," his family stated in a statement.

They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with zest and passion".

An Extensive Career on Screen

His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.

He subsequently landed a recurring role on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.

He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, playing a social organizer who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.

In the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on several hit series, including:

  • King of Queens
  • "Friends"
  • That '70s Show
  • House, M.D.

Finn was perhaps best known for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons of the show over nearly a decade.

His film credits encompass It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

Off-Screen Life

Outside of his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.

He was involved with a six-person improv troupe called Beer Shark Mice.

"Finn guided, supported, and advised countless students over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.

In a tribute, fellow actor actor Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," he posted publicly.

Finn is remembered by his wife Donna, his children, and his family.
